Christmas Jumper Day - SLS Raised Money for Save the Children UK

We celebrated Christmas Jumper Day last week and raised money for Save the Children UK. The total raised was £95.26 and there were some excellent Christmas jumpers on display! Thank you to everybody that donated.

Instead of Christmas cards, we're raising money for Rainbows

Instead of sending Christmas cards, we're raising money for Rainbows as a company.

For the last eight years the employees of SLS have used the money usually spent on sending Christmas cards for colleagues as a contribution towards supporting the Rainbows Children’s Hospice in Loughborough. SLS also support this program with a corporate donation of £100 to start the fund rolling.

Each year, your generous donations have resulted in contributions of several hundreds of pounds to this incredible organisation so they can continue to do such fantastic work supporting those who need it most. Find out more and donate here:

Please see below for our opening times over the Christmas period:

Last shipment/despatch prior to the Christmas break is Tuesday 18th December 2018.

No shipments will be made between 19th – 26th December 2018. During this time a full physical stock count will take place.

Limited shipments will resume on 27th, 28th and 31st December 2018.

Business reopens on Wednesday 2nd January 2019.

SLS Raise Over £550 for Children in Need

We raised a total of £568.29 for BBC Children in Need last week!

We held a samosa and Krispy Kreme donut sale, had a pyjama party and held a raffle to win an extra day of annual leave. The lucky winner of the raffle was Ben Millin our Business Improvement Lead.

Thank you to everybody that took part and donated to help us raise this amount for a fantastic cause.

We Raised Over £280 for Macmillan Cancer Support

Last Friday, we held our annual Macmillan Coffee Morning. We contributed homemade or shop-bought baked goods to the office fuddle. Donations were made for a plate of food and we had a 'guess the length of the sausage roll' sweep-stake.

The winner of our Bake Off competition was Amy Matharu, with her orange cake, which was delicious!

In total, we raised over £280 for this fantastic cause. Thank you to everybody that got involved.

On Wednesday 23rd May 2018, over 1200 scientists, technicians, speakers and exhibitors descended on the East Midlands Conference Centre at the University of Nottingham for the fifth Scientific Laboratory Show and Conference. Organised by Scientific Laboratory Supplies (SLS), the day brought together delegates from across the community, offering opportunities to meet like-minded people, learn new things and discover the very best scientific technology and equipment for the laboratory.

SLS Celebrates a Record-Breaking Scientific Laboratory Show & Conference!

With over 1200 in attendance, it was our biggest and best show yet! 

Highlights included keynote speeches from award-winning wildlife cameraman Doug Allan, BBC presenter Dallas Campbell and renowned physicist Professor Sir Bill Wakeham. Almost 80 exhibitors enjoyed meeting with delegates, and professional masterclasses were run by the Science Council and some of our key suppliers. Photo galleries, highlight videos and testimonials will shortly be available to view on the show website.

Fundraising fuddle raises over £230 for Cancer Research UK

Our colleague Kate Lupton and her fiance are fundraising for Cancer Research UK, and we wanted to support their efforts as a company. So we organised a fundraising fuddle! Everybody brought in some delicious food to contribute to the fuddle, then donations were made to tuck into a plate (or two!).
