General description
Native lysozyme from human neutrophils. Occurs in specific granules of human polymorphonuclear leukocytes and takes part in antibacterial activity of leukocytes. Hydrolyzes β1,4 linkages between N-acetylmuramic acid (2-acetamido-2-deoxy-3-O-[1′-carboxymethyl]-glucopyranose) residues in chitin.
