General description

The HY-LiTE^® Jet A1 Fuel Test Kit contains ready-to-use pens for detection of total biological contamination of Jet A1 fuel used in conjunction with the HY-LiTE^® 2luminometer. Fuel contains small amounts of water and bears the risk of microbial contamination. Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) is detected by reaction with a luciferin/luciferase reagent in a buffered solution. The test kit is designed to indicate the presence of metabolically active biological material such as bacteria, yeast, and molds, including sulphate-reducing bacteria and other anaerobic microorganisms, which may not be detected by traditional growth-based methods.MEASUREMENT LIMITS:IATA (International Air Transport Association) “Guidance Material on Microbiological Contamination in Aircraft Fuel Tanks” 5th Edition: Negligible: ﹤ 1000 RLU/liter fuel Moderate: 1000 – 5000 RLU/liter fuel Heavy: > 5000 RLU/liter fuelThe limits suggested above are based on the HY-LiTE^® 2 luminometer's measurement scale.
