Application

These Secondary Standards are qualified as Certified Reference Materials. Heptane may be used as a pharmaceutical reference solvent standard for the determination of the analyte in bulk drug and pharmaceutical formulations by gas chromatography.

General description

Heptane is a non-polar organic solvent and a straight-chain alkane with seven carbon atoms. It is generally employed in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals and considered to be one of the green solvents.Pharmaceutical secondary standards for application in quality control, provide pharma laboratories and manufacturers with a convenient and cost-effective alternative to the preparation of in-house working standards.
